I'm having trouble controlling THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE
So I finally got around to this voice post thing, unfortunately my voice isn't as sweet at Tristan's or as English at Lucy's, but we all make do. XD

Unfortunately voice posting isn't supported in Australia, we just got electricity last week, so you'll have to download it instead:

ah... your accent brings back the memories [my Grandmother was from Australia] -heh.
evil_loki: Byrne[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 05:00 am (UTC)
Ahh that's cool, were her parent's Australian too, or is that as far as the nationality goes in your family? :)
Nezumi[info]nezumitoo on July 5th, 2009 05:19 am (UTC)
As far as I know, yes. She'd always said she was born and raised there, didn't venture out until the war. My Grandfather was Prussian [Germany before it became Germany] though I'm not sure what was on his side beyond that. My Grandmother wasn't the nicest of peoples, but I did enjoy listening to her speak for the accent alone. I'd always been told I had it myself up until I was about 16 or so. Random people would ask me if I was from England, and I'd reply -no, but my Grandmother was Australian. I'd usually get- oh that must be it, in return <-the problem with that was I only ever saw my Grandmother at holidays, and only up until I was about 8 so it's not like I'd spent enough time around her to pick up an accent, but the fact that the answer seemed to satisfy everyone always made me laugh a bit.

Ahh, yeah I'm not too sure about my ancestors past a few generations either, all I know is it's supposed to be mostly Irish/Scottish for the major part.

Haha, yeah I'm not sure how you would have gotten an accent from that, certainly not one that would stick around for that long. As for people's reactions, I guess what else do you say to that?
Now I am curious to hear what you sound like though, obviously you don't have it anymore, but still. XD
Nezumi[info]nezumitoo on July 5th, 2009 05:40 am (UTC)
lol I think that's about same here, my father and his father, and my grandparents on his side were all Irish/Scottish etc. My entire line is some big ol' mixing of white -haha

I could never figure it out either [I don't think anyone in my fam could] considering I was the only one outside of my Grandmother who had it. My sister, Robin, aunt, cousins, etc - no one but me had any type of accent that I can recall [Always the odd one out it seems *_*].

My voice is stupid low, I've never liked it and any time I hear a recording of it, I get all ->=__=. Have you ever seen The 13th Warrior? The part where they're all around the fire mimicking one of their companions... his reaction is basically mine any time I hear myself talk -lol
evil_loki: Byrne[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 06:06 am (UTC)
Yeah, I think one of my Grandmother's lines goes back to Switzerland or something like that, but in the end it's just a whole big array of European white. XD

Yeah I don't really like my voice either, but honestly I don't think many people like their own, everyone hears the worst in their voice, and things most people probably wouldn't have even noticed.
I've always found my voice a bit nasally, and I'm annoyed by the limitations it has, I really can't sing well at all. XD
I haven't seen the movie, but I'm sure in reality that your voice is more than fine. :3
Nezumi[info]nezumitoo on July 5th, 2009 07:00 am (UTC)
This clip has the part I'm talking about [at 3:00 is when it starts with the campfire etc, you'll see what I mean] on a side note, The 13th Warrior is one of my fav movies ever, I have so much love for Herger D:

haha, you're prolly right, but it doesn't stop me from cringing every time I hear my own voice though xD
evil_loki: Byrne[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 07:43 am (UTC)
Haha, poor guy. XD

Yeah, I know what you mean though, but if you ever decide to do it I am now very curious to hear what you sound like. :3
blueeyedseth[info]blueeyedseth on July 5th, 2009 03:52 am (UTC)
No Australian voice comment stuff eh? *swats LJ*

Shockingly enough, your accent seems almost non-existant to me. (Least from what I can hear)
evil_loki: Bella (Chibi)[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 05:01 am (UTC)
Hehe yeah I don't think my accent is very strong compared to some, but then again I can't really hear my own accent. XD
Kate Wonder[info]wondergirl_kate on July 5th, 2009 04:23 am (UTC)
Were there any questions for this meme because I want to do it. :DDDDDDDDD
Kate Wonder[info]wondergirl_kate on July 5th, 2009 04:24 am (UTC)
AHAHA BRENDAD. Sounds like you. HOW SURPRISING.
evil_loki: Devil[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 05:02 am (UTC)
NO WAIS! :O

Yeah I don't think there's much of a meme to it, just an excuse to hear everyone's voice.

I had originally intended on doing a spoken word version of NWA's Fuck the Police but decided against it for some reason.
kawaii_mon[info]kawaii_mon on July 5th, 2009 04:38 am (UTC)
You just say crap and post it.
Kate Wonder: omg[info]wondergirl_kate on July 5th, 2009 04:54 am (UTC)
I LIKE TALKING CRAP! :D
seijikat[info]seijikat on July 5th, 2009 06:07 am (UTC)
I love how you Aussies say Zebra. Cause it's Zeeeeebra here. Now I'm curious how you say Basil. Cause it's Baaaaysil here but in England it was Bi-sil.

I'd do this thing too but I dunno WTF I'd say. lol.
evil_loki: Bella (Chibi)[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 06:16 am (UTC)
Haha, actually I'd forgotten about that pronunciation difference.
We say "Bazzil", or at least I do, sometimes you come across people who have weird ways to say things, but I think the standard Aussie way is more of a Baz-il sound.
Also we say "Herbs", not 'erbs, because there's a H there for a reason. XD

Yeah I wasn't quite sure what to say either, I considered reading something out, but in the end I just made it up for a minute. :3
I would like to hear how you sound though. :D
dieux_faux: Aang[info]dieux_faux on July 5th, 2009 10:29 am (UTC)
At least LJ didn't taunt you by making you think it worked in your country =/ neither of the UK numbers worked so I had to use an American one. That shit cost me a whole 50p god damn it *shakes fist and such*

I gotta say, I'm almost disappointed you don't have a stronger accent, do love the Aussie accent some lol XD
evil_loki: Devil[info]evil_loki on July 5th, 2009 11:55 am (UTC)
Aww sorry, I'll lay the accent on thicker next time just for you. XD

I guess we don't really have a very high brow accent though, it tends to come out more in lower class colloquialisms and crude slang. :P
kal: ohhc - mori - *clapclap*[info]r727 on July 6th, 2009 12:13 am (UTC)
The FUTURE! D: How mysteriousss--

I am fascinated by the way you say "so". XD *has boring non-existent accent* Moreee voice posts -- I read your entry about the voice post prompts and I'm down. 8Db Sounds like fun~!
evil_loki: Bella (Chibi)[info]evil_loki on July 6th, 2009 02:18 am (UTC)
lol, the way I say "so"?
I've never really thought about it, what makes it so interesting? XD

Awesome, I'll have to work out the first prompt soon, seems a few people are keen. :D
